Terms of use

Welcome to Basira Center. By using the site or creating an account on it, you agree to these terms. We wrote them so that together we keep a serious and respectful learning environment.

Your account

• Your account is personal. Don't share your sign-in details with anyone, don't sell them, and don't let anyone else use your account.
• Sharing an account, or its use by more than one person, leads to its suspension.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of your details and for keeping your password safe.

Purchases and membership

• Buying a knowledge journey gives you unlimited access to that journey.
• A monthly or yearly membership gives you access to the journeys it includes for as long as your membership is active, and renews automatically until you cancel it.
• You can cancel your membership at any time from the My account page.
• Refund details are in the refund policy.
• Payments are processed by Stripe, and prices are shown in US dollars.

Content and rights

• The journeys, with their videos, audio and texts, belong to their instructors and to Basira Center, and are for your personal use in learning.
• You may not download, copy, publish or share the content outside the platform without written permission from the center.
• The content is for learning and reflection. It is not a fatwa or specialist advice.

Conduct in discussions and reviews

• Treat instructors and learners with full respect, and give criticism politely and with the aim of improvement.
• Sectarian or racist speech, personal attacks or mockery, advertising links without permission, and stolen or indecent content are not allowed.
• What is written in a journey's discussions belongs to its participants; don't publish it outside the platform without the author's consent.
• Breaking these rules may lead to a warning, removal of the post, or restriction or suspension of the account, depending on how serious it is.

Journeys for women only

Some journeys are for women only, and this is stated clearly on their page. Male learners may not enrol in them or try to watch their content, and any breach of this leads to permanent deletion of the account without warning or compensation.

Instructors

An instructor at Basira Center is a partner in the project, not only a transmitter of information. We ask instructors to:

• Present original, reliable content built on recognised sources, and make clear where something is their personal opinion.
• Respect the learner's mind and privacy, and avoid promoting any product or organisation in lessons without prior agreement.
• Engage regularly with learners' questions and activities during the journey.
• Prepare the journey on the platform as a draft, with its description, goals, lessons and their order, before it is approved and filmed.

Ownership of the scholarly material stays with the instructor. The center holds the exclusive right to sell and distribute the journey through its platform, and it may not be republished or sold on other platforms without written consent. Short clips (two to three minutes) may be used for promotion with the source credited. Financial terms are set in the agreement with each instructor.
