Privacy policy
Your data is a trust we hold. This page explains what we collect about you, why, who can see it, and how you control it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and username. We never see your password; it is stored with one-way encryption. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us.
- Your learning: your progress in journeys, your answers to challenges, what you hand in for interactive activities (text, audio or video files), your posts in discussions, your journey reviews, and the lessons you save.
- Payments: what you bought and the status of your membership. Your card details never reach us; you enter them directly with Stripe, our payment provider.
- Visit statistics: anonymous visit counts and site-speed measurements that don't follow you across sites and don't use cookies.
If you were a learner on our old site, we moved your account, progress and purchases to this site so you can continue your journey without interruption.
Why we use it
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To open the journeys you bought or that your membership includes, and save your progress in them.
- So the journey's instructor can read your activities and answer your questions.
- To send necessary account emails, such as sign-in links and payment confirmations.
- To improve the site and its speed.
We don't sell your data, show ads, or share it with advertisers.
Who can see it
- The journey's instructor sees your answers, activities and posts in their journey, and so does the center's management team.
- Learners in the same journey see what you write in its discussions, under your name.
- A review you publish of a journey appears on its page for all visitors.
To run the site we use service providers who process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: the database and accounts, on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt).
- Vercel: site hosting and anonymous visit statistics.
- Stripe: payments and memberships.
- Bunny.net: streaming lesson videos and audio, and storing the video and audio files you upload in activities.
- Resend: sending account emails to your inbox.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Cookies
We use one necessary cookie that keeps you signed in, and we may save your preferences, such as language and light or dark appearance, on your device. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can change your name and username on the My account page. You can also ask for a copy of your data, its correction, or the deletion of your account by writing to us at info@basira.center from the email registered to your account. When we delete an account, we remove it and everything linked to it, except the payment records we are required to keep.
Protecting your data
Connections to the site are encrypted, and access to data is restricted by permissions: each learner reaches only their own data, and each instructor only the data of their own journeys.
Changes to this policy
